DIY tutu closet

I was in need of some displays for the upcoming craft fair so we got creative and took some old shelves and turned them into something fabulous.
In the past I hung my tutus on the shade tent, but since this craft fair is inside, I won't be taking a shade tent. The solution: Turn and old bookshelf into a closet.
I forgot to take a before picture of the book shelf, but here is a photo of Dylan sitting in it.
And a photo of the top I took a while back.
We turned it upside down and spray painted it black.
Painted the shelves pink and drilled hols in the side for a freshly painted dowl rod to fit through.
 And voila! A tutu closet!
I am very pleased with the way it turned out. Now I just need to paint my name on the top lip of the shelf and we're all set!

tutu fun

I just listed 2 new tutus in my shop!

This first one is a newborn size 0-12 months. It comes with a matching headband, for FREE! I was playing around with some new ideas for headbands so I included it free of charge as it's my first attempt. I think it turned out pretty cute. My son looks good in it anyhow :)
This next tutu is my "punk rock" tutu. It's all black on one side, with bright colors on the reverse. You can wear it either way!
Isn't it gorgeous? This one is a size 2T-4T.
Of course all tutus can be made in a different size or color if you prefer. Just contact me and tell me what you want!

*Don't forget to enter the giveaway going on now till Wednesday!

tutu cute!

I've been working on tutus to sell at the Spring Fling coming up and I am very excited about the 3 I currently have finished.

This one is zebra print on top, with hot pink underneath. The pink is slightly longer so that it hangs out just a little. Correct me if I'm wrong, but some little girl is going to look absolutely precious in this!

What little girl doesn't need a fancy tutu to wear to the big game? This KU tutu is perfect for any Jayhawk fan!

Let's not forget those Wildcats! Go K-State!

Currently I'm working on making a tutu in Shockers colors. I have to cheer on my Alma Mater!

making tutus

The other day an old friend asked me to make some tutus for her (well I kind of put a plug in aobut it). She doesn't have any little girls of her own, but does photography on the side, and is quite good at it. She keeps a set of props for photo shoots and wanted some tutus to add to the stash. I love making tutus so I'm very excited about this. So far I only have 1 finished (that's all the elastic I had on hand) but I think it turned out really well. It's 0-3 month size and perfect for a spring/summer photo shoot. The tulle I used is very glittery which I absolutely love. My basement floor is now covered in glitter, but hey, who doesn't like glitter?

When they are finished they will be listed on etsy as a reserved listing for her. Hopefully she likes them as much as I do!
Hopefully some day I'll have my own little girl to put tutus on!
