The Ultimate Nuggle Blanet
I finally got my blanket listed that I mentioned the other day.
It's so soft and warm I almost want to keep it for myself!
I bought some fabulous new items for making headbands and flowers. (How's this for deals? I spent $21.01, but saved $23. 36. I love coupons!) There may be some sparkles involved.
Now I just need to get some more boy stuff bought. I get caught up in the fun girly things that I sometimes neglect to stay on top of the boy items. If I'm ever low on boy items (i.e. blankets or burp rags) and you are in the market for some, don't hesitate to ask for a custom order!

Remember, if you want to be featured just let me know! You can leave a comment, or send me and e-mail. sammyjaynes@gmail.com
I'm in the works of adding another item to my shop. It's soft, is beautiful and any baby would love to nuggle with it.

features
I would love to start featuring other crafters on my blog. Being featured would include a post about you, your designs/products, photos and a giveaway if you choose. I'll have you type a short paragraph about yourself that includes how you got started and what inspires you. In some cases I may seek you out and ask your permission to put you on my blog, however, if you would like to be featured you can contact me at sammyjaynes@gmail.com. I will start doing these features on Fridays as soon as I get my first crafter! Feature Friday is what I think I'll call it. This won't cost you anything, (unless you decide to do a giveaway then you are responsible for the product and shipping) it's free advertising for you!
I will do features on a first come first serve basis, so hurry and you could be the first!

wedding delight
My younger sister is getting married this summer. (Actually, both of my sisters are getting married this summer.) And she asked me to make her a hair piece to wear for the wedding. She had looked at buying one but just hadn't found exactly what she wanted. So for the last couple of weeks I have been playing with the flowers and feathers she brought me from the craft store. She wanted something fairly large, lots of flowers, stars, all white, feathers... So here is what I came up with.
The flowers came in small bunches which I took carefully took apart, and then rearranged. Luckily the flowers were on wire which made them easy to twist and attach. I simply twisted their wires together until I got the shape I wanted, glued some felt to the back, glued the feathers to that, glued more felt on top of that, lined an alligator clip and glued that to the felt as well. Sounds like a lot of gluing huh?
My sister loves stars and really wanted stars in her hair piece. She couldn't find any actual stars, buts he found these adorable little flowers that resemble stars.
I placed a few of them spuradically throughout the other flowers.
I think the feathers add a nice, soft touch.
Hopefully this ends up being exactly what she was hoping for! After he wedding I'll post pictures of it in her hair.

"Nuggle Me"
Here are pictures of the Nuggle Me Blankie I made yesterday. This is the first time I have ever used minky fabric because it is so expensive to buy. I was able to get this 50% of though. Score! I love shopping with coupons!
The Nuggle Me is a blankie that is a 17" square. Soft dot minky on one side, and a beautiful printed cotton on the other. I'm sure you are wondering why I chose to call this a Nuggle Me Blankie...When my oldest son was about 2 he often dropped the first sound of words. He would always come up to me and say "I want to nuggle with you mommy." It was so sweet and melted my heart every time.
So I decided that the perfect name for a miniature blankie that is perfect for snuggling is the "Nuggle Me Blankie"
Your opinions matter! So what do you think?

weekly goal
I decided I need to write down goals each week to be sure that i am accomplishing things. Having things written out helps to keep me motivated. I really don't like not reaching my goals. I figure if I post my goals for all of you to read, you can help hold me acountable. So here are my goals for this week:
1. Make a burp rag/onesie combo for a teacher at my husbands school who is having a baby this summer. Her shower is Tuesday.
2. Make 1 tutu
3. Make 1 "Nuggle Me" Blankie (bet you are wondering what that is... you'll just have to wait!)
4. Make 5 bracelets
5. Make 5 rings (these are fabulous, you're going to love them!)
So by this time next week, and actually I'm hoping to be done Friday, all of these need to be finished. If they aren't I give you full permision to make fun of me, and reprimand me. However, if I complete all of my tasks, I fully expect praise! :)

Firefly
This morning I met with the owner of Firfly Yoga Studio to see about selling my baby items in her studio. The owner, Nickki, just opened her studio this month and was in need of some baby items to sell to her yoga mamas. I'm very excited to say that Sammy Jayne's baby items can now be purchased at Firfly Yoga!
I can't wait to see how this all turns out! I hope it sells quick. I went to the fabric store today so that I can restock!
Thank you, Nickki, for giving me this opportunity! And a special thanks to my cousin, Hannah, for setting this up!

bracelets
Yay! Blogger is back! I was starting to think I would never blog again.... okay, just kidding.
I've been playing with my fabric scraps and decided to make myself some jewelry.
The ribbon is hiding a tiny piece of elastic to allow the bracelt to be slipped on easily over your hand. It is (or will be) sewn from the back side to keep the bow in tact.
They are really light weight so they aren't annyoing like some bracelets I've worn that are constantly sliding down and getting in the way when I am typing. I've had mine on all morning and keep forgetting about it because it is so light and comfortable to wear!

a giveaway!
My friend over at The "Linc" Between Us is doing a giveaway! She's celebrating having 100 followers (how cool is that? I hope to have 100 followers someday, I would do a huge giveaway then!) and is giving away something she made herself.
Isn't this necklace gorgeouse???? She is thinking about opening her own Etsy shop and I really hope she does!
All you have to do to enter is head over to her blog, become a follower, and leave her a comment! Easy peasy!
So why are you still hanging out here? Go already!

Spring Fling Success
The Spring Fling was a so much fun on Saturday! My sister sat out there with me all day, thank you sis!
Here is what my booth looked like. It was a little windy and hard to keep stuff from flying away.
Views of other vendors from where we sat. We met tons of super nice people with incredible hand made crafts.
The weather was hot, and I got a little sunburned (only on my left side) but it was well worth it.
A huge thank you to all of the people at Food For Thought for hosting this event! I hope to join you again next year!

2 more days!
Only 2 days left until the Spring Fling! I think I have everything in order (except for 1 blanket I'm finishing this afternoon).
Here is the display I made for my hair clips. I have a ton more than this, but the display can only hold 16 at a time.
My stash of burp rags ready to go!
Receiving blankets.
I just recently finished this one. Isn't it darling? It has a matching burp rag and onesie as well!

a project for me
The other day I decided that my house needed some cheer. I have been working on making things for the Spring Fling and trying to get my house all organized at the same time. We're planning a garage sale this summer so boxes of "stuff" are piling up. When I was going through the baby's room I found this beautiful blue vase that my parents gave me full of flowers when my middle son was born. The vase has just been sitting on a shelf because the blue doesn't match anything in the house. So last week I decided to do something with it.
I have a shelf full of kids toys just off the stairs in the basement that needed some dressing up. I don't ever keep fresh flowers in the house because it gets expensive, and we all have wonderful allergies. Not to mention flowers die, and then you have to replace them. So I decided to make some flowers that would be bright and never fade.
I took some felt, traced flowers with a cookie cutter, cut them, glued a pipe cleaner between the 2 sides and glued on a button. Then I added a ribbon to the vase and voila!
The top of my shelf is no longer sad!
